Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Good Faith Estimate ?
Payments and Billing
Session Rates
The fee for a 45-minute individual therapy session is $150.
We also offer half sessions and extended appointment times. Please inquire about rates for these options and the cost of the initial intake assessment.
Payments are securely processed through our patient portal using the card on file following each session, unless alternative arrangements have been made in advance.
Out-of-Network (OON) Billing and Insurance
Although we do not contract directly with insurance companies, many clients are able to utilize out-of-network benefits for partial or full reimbursement of services.
To simplify the reimbursement process, we offer two options for utilizing out-of-network benefits:
Full-Service Claims Submission
We partner with a secure payment platform that can verify out-of-network benefits and submit claims on your behalf. In some cases, clients may only be responsible for a copay at the time of service rather than waiting for reimbursement from their insurance provider.
Superbill Option
Upon request, we can provide a detailed superbill for you to submit directly to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Financial Hardship & Sliding Scale
We reserve a limited number of sliding-scale appointments for clients experiencing financial hardship.
If you would like to be considered for a reduced fee, please inquire about our sliding-scale application when scheduling your initial session
Understanding Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy, often referred to as “talk therapy” or counseling, is an evidence-based mental health treatment that helps individuals better understand their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Through a collaborative therapeutic process, psychotherapy supports meaningful emotional growth, symptom relief, and lasting positive change.
Psychotherapy provides a confidential and supportive space to work with a licensed mental health professional to address emotional distress, mental health conditions, life transitions, relational difficulties, and other personal challenges that may impact overall well-being and daily functioning.
The goal of psychotherapy is not only to reduce symptoms, but also to strengthen insight, coping abilities, emotional regulation, and interpersonal functioning, ultimately improving overall quality of life.
A psychotherapist is a licensed professional, such as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist, or Licensed Counselor, who has completed a Master’s or Doctoral degree, supervised clinical training, and passed a state licensing exam to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions. At The Women’s Psyche Society, all of our therapists are fully licensed and committed to providing the highest level of care.
